Together, with a ministry called CEPUDO,
we were able to have pinata making
and cooking classes for some of the
young ladies (and not so young) ladies
in our village. The teacher came and
stayed in the hotel here and we had
cooking classes in our kitchen every
weekday for two weeks from 8am - 1pm.
At times, we had up to 30 women in our kitchen!
The pinata classes were every weekday from 1pm - 5pm.
Amanda participated in the pinata making classes and April
participated in the cooking classes. And yes, they both graduated
and received diplomas!
We are planning on having more classes in the future.
Our hope for the future is to have
a classroom/workroom available
permanently for the young ladies
and women to learn the pinata making.
We are also hoping to be able to provide
classroom/workroom for sewing classes.
In order to do this, we need to have
funding for the remodeling of the
house to provide this extra space.
Please pray with us concerning Gods direction for this.
Even though many of the ladies in our
village are very interested in making
and selling the pinatas, they simply
do not have the space in their houses
needed to work on or store the pinatas.
Most of the ladies here have a one room
house, dirt floor, and scrap wood for sides.
